The Third Floor, Inc. is seeking Character Animators for an exciting VR project!
The Third Floor is the world’s premier, Emmy Award winning previsualization studio. For the past 12 years, we’ve been creating some of the film industry’s most exciting and visually compelling pre and postvis work. Now we’re taking our knowledge and experience as innovative visual storytellers to the burgeoning world of Virtual Reality. We’re looking for experienced character animators to be part of this immersive new medium.
Animators must demonstrate a clear mastery of the principles of animation and be able to work creatively in a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
● Create compelling characters through acting and movement.
● Ensure the story is told efficiently and effectively.
● Establish the style of the project through entertaining acting choices.
● Receive assigned shots in sequence review with the Director providing general guidance
● Plan shots with an understanding of story/character context.
● Block animation using audio dialog track.
● Clearly show performance ideas and shot blocking in Director review (animation dailies).
● Collaborate with and take direction from Director and Animation Supervisor.
● Implement changes and completely finish shots in accordance with production schedule.
● Develop a working knowledge of necessary production tools.
● Maintain an open and professional demeanor regarding direction, changes and shifting requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
● Proficiency in Autodesk Maya.
