Hi everyone!
I'm quite new to posting on polycount, I've been following the web for a couple of years though I never felt brave enough to post anything, so this time I'm gonna try
.
My idea is to make a version of the greatest evil of all (
ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!!!), and make it lovable in the process.

New update, adding some tentacles to the back and shoulders.

I think this week I'll get on with the retopology of the whole thing.
New updates... I´m half way trough the retopology
I´ve done some decimation on zbrush to have a simplified mesh to work with maya for "making it live" and use the quadraw tool to retopologize.
Some pics of the process:
(decimation using decimation master)
(close up)
...any comments?
Feedback is welcome
I finally finished the retopology in maya, so now the mesh is about 14400 tris.
another pic in zbrush (I imported the obj and then transfered the sculpt detail from the dynamesh subtool to the retopologized mesh)
A closer one:
I've been quite busy lately so I wasn't able to upload any updates until now. So I present you ..... Little cthulhu!!!
Let me explain now a little bit. I don't consider this an extra character, I consider this as an object since in the final render the all mighty scary cthulhu (the big ugly one) will be playing with this cute stuffed toy.
For now is just some basic dynameshed shapes, I hope I have some time tomorrow to retopologize.
New update:
(details on arms, legs and change the head a little bit to make it a little bit more alien like)
Thnxs!!! I´m glad you like it. I get what you´re saying, It needs much more detail on the head.... I hope I have some time to make it look better, I´guess that I´m running out of time and I should start painting it on substance.
By the way I like your knight armor, you did a really nice job there! good luck!
I´ve been posing the low poly version and sculpting the pedestal.
Some pics:
I´m finally starting to paint the mesh in substance painter. I bought the indie version on steam last December and I really don´t have much experience with it so I´m struggling a little bit with it. Does anyone know how to make a transparency channel?
Another question.... is it possible to change the hue of a layer?
Pics (hope you like em):
