Reload Studios is looking for an environment artist to join our
team. The art department is a small but dedicated team. All of us
wear many hats during our current production. The ideal candidate will
have the opportunity to make a huge contribution to the outcome of the levels
as well as other visual content for our project. If you want to genuinely
grow as an artist and work in a non-corporate environment, please read further.
Responsibilites:
• model, texture, light and set up FPS levels in Unreal Engine 4
• contribute creating other types of assets such as props, cinematic and PR
content
• make sure assets are created optimally to work best in VR (will be trained on
this)
• troubleshoot performance and visual issues as they arise
• work closely with level designers and scripters to ensure good gameplay
experiences
• follow direction as well as work without much supervision
• take suggestions well and offer viable input for the project and art pipeline
Qualifications:
• BFA in Game Art, Illustration, Animation or equivalent industry experience
• 2-5+ years of video game industry experience preferred, but a strong
portfolio is most important
• experience creating levels from scratch from initial blockout to final
shippable state
• must feel comfortable creating 2nd UV sets for lightmaps
• expertise in Maya and Photoshop
• Ability to quickly learn and/or use other relevant utilities such as 3dCoat,
Mudbox, ZBrush, etc.
• strong hand painted texture skills similar to Blizzard or Riot (also check
out our trailers). Traditional painting experience preferred.
• strong sense of form, color, composition, and lighting
• deep knowledge of game level design, processes, and theories
• experience in debugging issues related to PC's, Maya, Photoshop, and Unreal 4
• insatiable hunger to grow as an artist and an ability to contribute to the
artistic growth of others
• a mindset that embraces the start-up culture
