Mega excited for my first go at one of these contest dealios!
Story:
Story:
- reclusive stonemason in love with woman in town
- encounters witch/fairy while gathering materials in forest, wishes for woman to fall in love with him
- witch/fairy tells him that such a wish would be very selfish
- wishes for it anyway
- returns to town, woman approaches with longing, yet empty gaze
- mason extends hand to meet hers, she is instantly transformed into a stone statue upon his touch
- mason’s arm is also transformed to brittle stone but is able to move
- hand fused to hers
- in panic he attempts to force his hand from hers, only to break the hand from her arm and causing the rest of her body to crumble to rubble
- mason flees into the woods and lives in solitude, forever clutching the hand of his lost love.
- Mostly stone but parts of body still flesh, flesh parts discolored
- some green overgrowth in addition to stone
- some tattered clothing
- woman's stone hand either still fused to mason's hand or he just always carries it with him
- hunched, closed off posture, big gut
