Me and a group of people are attempting to make a game. The game will be called Gorefest, an online gladiatorial game set in the future.
We pitched the game to be
‘It’s Mortal Kombat, meets Gears of War, journeying past Doom with a splash of
Bulletstorm’
For this project we wanted to create a fight promo, similar in vein to UFC, but with certain cheesy elements from WWE/WWF, we also wanted to include some elements from Robot Wars. This would be the aim for May to have this promo done, ready for film day, alongside this we want to try and include as much as possible in engine, we will be using Unreal 4.
I will try to keep this thread up-to-date with my team’s progress, included in this post is some character block-outs, I used base-meshes I found online, especially the Bane one, I will be replacing this in Zbrush these will be put through z-brush, and then re-topology, UV’ing and texturing.

Hey everyone quick update here are some more screenshots, I think over the next week I might try and update a little everyday, especially with my character modelling, hope you like it, I may start sculpt some of the gribbly stuff, like organs and flesh, I may also start giving more info on our characters as we go, and the universe and 'what' GoreFest is...

Just doing a few updates as I didn't last night these renders are of our shark character who is an in-game trap/boss.
This character could be a genetic experiment, alien life/fauna, we're keeping backstories loose on this project, we're employing a 'show, don't tell' so players can build the backstory for these characters.
I've decided to redo this characters shin armour as it looks a little silly.
Here is some more on the Alien Bounty Hunter.
Using Cthulhu as a base, mixed with predator, and the Kraken from evolve, we were thinking of having two head 'modes' one when he's passive and one when he's attacking with psionic based attacks, mixed with lightning attacks.

I also started to block organs in a skeleton base mesh this skeleton will be used as a base for other meshes and used in player kills and when characters go 'pop'
Thanks, we're having good fun so far, hopefully, this week or next we'll have characters that go 'pop'
here's a blockout for the level,
The idea is that the players are shipped into the level and then they jump into the engine port, and the fight takes place in the engine itself,
I've been learning also how to retarget in Unreal so we should have characters beating each other up soon enough,

The characters are slowly being re-model select sections for ease of animating and constraints, re-topo'd and textured over the next few weeks

the other problem I'm having is the tentacles at the joints I'm wondering should I do geo, or can I hide it with a map 'job',
Any help would be great, I've been looking at reference and I'm just getting discombobulated any help would be greatly appreciated
