My Zbrush scene has a plane with a fibermesh on it.  I just want to hide the plane.  De-selecting the eye icon under subtool does not hide the plane.

Turns out you have to click "ACCEPT" on the fibermesh. This makes it a sub-tool.  The fibermesh subtool becomes attached to your plane.  You can switch to your fibermesh under the sub tool palette, then hide the plane.   You can also delete the fibermesh subtool, replay with your fibermesh settings on the plane and generate a new fibermesh.
