Hi guys !
I think I'm going to go for a werewolf/vampire character.
It's a farmer that got bitten by something nasty and slowly developed a disease that worsened over time.
No matter how he tried to hide it from his wife, it was reading more and more on his face and spent his time alone in the bathroom every night, trying to hold on and resist from the blood craving.
After faking the death of the family dog for a wolf attack, he finally made his first human victim and ruined everything he was building up until now. Soon he won't be able to hide his burden from the rest of the village anymore.
Here is a quick portrait sculpt

There's going to be a lot of work on the texturing, although I'm a bit concerned about not having a lot of fancy materials. Mostly skin/cloth/hair/blood.
Blocking in the body type for him, I went for a slightly short and stylized silhouette to match the head.
WIP of the day ! I started making the pants, the crack on the right is just for preview purpose. Gotta break the symmetry on the back too.
I also really dig the fact that you are sculpting the cloth and not relying on Marvelous Designer or something.
It might sound a little cliche, but have you thought about overalls instead of jeans? I don't know.... but perhaps an outfit that says "Farmer"..and not "Guy in Jeans"
However you wanna slice it I know it is gonna be ace! Seriously one of my favorite entries.
Yea I find that sculpting cloth from scratch, although being more difficult, is in the end much better unless I'm aiming at super photorealism.
Folds more dynamic, more pleasing to the eyes, does not produce crazy overlaps so easier to retopo and bake, nice training too, and it's kind of fun to do, and more rewarding. And mainly, folds coming straight from Marvelous would totally not fit to the art style.
I'm not sure about overalls, I just chose farmer as a job because that's representative of a simple, low social class, and would justify the fact that he works outside and got bitten by a nasty animal. He's more like, at home, hasn't been actually working for a little while due to his degrading health condition, so he's in leisure wear, casual outfit.
Currently working on the arms.
That was a productive weekend, time to sleep now !
Otherwise, brilliant work so far ! The face is lovely
I'm exploring ideas for the top cloth. I'm thinking about doing the full retopo first, make the final pose, and then make the shirt on top of that since I'm no character TD and I don't know how to do crazy rigs and simulations. Maybe with Marvelous Designer for a basemesh and then resculpt the folds so that they don't look too realistic. What do you think about it ?
It's just my answer as non-character artist, maybe an expert can help you more than me!
