The words "Beauty and the Beast" written in the competition summary excited me, though I am not at all willing to relate my art to the Disney rendition of the words. To me, beauty is the very essence of nature that makes up most of our planet, the trees, plants, flowers as well as the beasts living among us, my work will be reflective of this.
Most likely to manifest in the form of a symbiotic relationship between Nature and Beast.

My most progressed image is sitting on a rather high polycount at this time, all subtools added up to several million. But I am not at all concerned about reducing the polys and maintaining its sculpted texture as I have been through the reduction process many times for my games.
Most of my reference images have just come from google, I am mainly looking at various breeds of Swine and trees just to get an idea of how their forms are made up, I use reference images lightly in my sculpting though because I don't want it to effect my art style too drastically. Aside from the resourced images I also drew up a super quick sketch in pen, for similar reasons I don't like to spend too much time in this stage, it is very rough but it has the information from my idea that I require, so quick sketches work fine for me.
The current stage of my sculpt still has a lot of work to go, I have probably put in around 20 hours at this time, I would ideally like to invest another 20+ if I can. I am feeling the time constraints a little because I really want to paint it up using Substance Painter, yet I am still learning how to use the program.
I wish everyone good luck in the competition!
Happy Modelling!
