For UE4, and "general use", does there need to be any pixel/edge padding between borders and the UVs? I've looked at the wiki guide, and "tutorials", but did I miss the part about borders..?
Best way to find out is to make a test texture, put it in your game engine, and see where it breaks down. Put a contrasty color in the gutters (minus the padding). Back away from your model and see when the seams start to appear.
