How do I permanently switch the statistics I am seeing in Max

Every time I reopen max and hit 7 and I get statistics at the default settings.
The default information is not very useful for me.
So I need to open up the configure viewports and set it like I want it.  
But then when I reopen it.  I need to do it again.
It is kind of annoying to keep doing that.  

Does anyone know if there is a way to permanently set this?
I want to always see Tris, Verts, Total and Selection

open an empty scene  turn on stats  then save over the max start file or create one

The settings are stored per file. So do a file Reset then change your statistic, unit, and anything else you want to be default. Finally save it as MaxStart.max in your default project folder.

We actually use a MaxStart.max per project here at work. Since the unit setup is a little different.

I have been reconfiguring my viewport stat settings every time I open max for years.
Just resaved it.  Works.  THANK YOU
