Usually it is a tedious task for me. Take a weapon for example. There are many seperated UV islands, from small to big. Do you arrange the many islands by hand and find their best place by eye or you have a fast and quick procedure to arrange all the islands into a logical layout? I could use the pack islands command (blender), but it just mess up everything and makes the texturing painful in photoshop.
