Hello! I'm making a character with dreads. He's going to be a full character eventually, and he's actually a character from a book that maybe you'll know. Here's what I have so far. I messed around with fibermesh forever and finally ended up with something I was happy with, and then totally ignored the fibermesh when I started making the LP dreads. They are just tubes of polys with a seamless texture that I made in photoshop from the "render fibers" filter. The facial hair in TB2 is just the fibermesh exported from zbrush FOR NOW.
Correct, the first post is shells with an alpha, set to dither. I tried cutout as well, which I like 'cause it breaks up the light more and gives the impression of tiny flyaways, but it still doesn't look quite right.
