I teach 3D modeling and animation for games at Uppsala University, and have recently launched online courses on Udemy. Like many of you, I didn't have access to a school when learning 3D and this is my way to give back to the community.
Out of curiosity, do you teach 3ds Max at Uppsala University? I haven't been in Sweden all that long (~2years), but I've noticed people/studios seem a lot more Maya-centric here.
Thanks guys! And yes, at UU we teach primarily modeling in 3ds Max and animation in Motionbuilder (we have our own mocap studio at the school). But we're pretty open to other software as well, especially if the students already have experience in Maya, Blender, etc.
My experience is that studios here in Europe are using a bit of a mix of Maya and Max, but there are an encouraging number of indies going with Blender very successfully as well
This has come at the perfect time for me. I've been trying to access my library resources with no luck (incompetent IT) and now I have something to do today! Thankyou!
Wow, that's an amazing response. Just woke up to a classroom full of fellow polycount artists, fantastic!! I really hope you have a wonderful time at the course For anyone still trying to register, the free sign-ins ran out (sorry!!) but there's still a 90% off throughout January with this link: https://www.udemy.com/masterclass-modeling-3d-props-for-aaa-games/?couponCode=Jan16_10D
