Hi polycounters! Im Jorge, a newbie on the world of 3D, I studied 3d career and started to work as modeler in a 3D Glasses company for few months.
The thing is I have long time without modeling / texturing for games (I was modeling all the time highpoly glasses without textures) and im back now and i will be posting the assets im doing, would be very apreciated some feedback and advices
This is my first game asset so far. Is a Model 24 Stielhandgranate.
The metal looks much better in SP than marmoset, dont know why, i just used pbr material like SP and played a little with the options.
Used 3Ds Max for modeling and Substance Painter for texturing ( im new at SP so any tutorial, trick, etc will be apreciated too) Thank you.
You can load in your Heightmap into the Displacement Slot. Click on the Cursors on the right side and thenn -> Heightmap. Then under Subdivision PN Triangles and put Tessellation and Smoothing up.
Are you using Metallness or Specular Workflow? Maybe you have to change your Inputs in Marmoset.
@Gazu Im using metal and glossiness map, since i dont know how to put roughtness, does this affect to the result? and i will try the height map and play with some options and upload an image here.
@keket :S yep im confused with all invert buttons and all the stuff, im newbie but i will try and post later.
@Gazu Just put the height map and looks equal than before, and on the Subdivion PN Triangles, if u put up both options the grenade looks like inflated.
Also i just changed the sky, heres a photo with the difference now, before and in SP.And other with my marmoset settings. https://gyazo.com/e8e08eaa723dc3fd2f8aac07cd84541e (gyazo of the settings that i changed)
And the difference, i changed the sky, played a little with roughness and glossiness map, tried height map but i dont see any change, maybe SP put the details on the normal map.
I just want a render from marmoset looking equal or similar to SP Thanks for your helps and feedback .
