Hi all, I am a student studying Games art and design. Below is some of the work i have done for my first term. I have already recieved feedback from tutors, however any other points would be appreciated (probably won't revisit these until much later down the line).
Term 2 and 3 consist of 3D modelling, though I will continue to pursue the art of 2D.
Hey! I'm also a student doing Game Art and you're doing really well! I especially like the metal armour and your study piece. My general advice is work on your fundamentals like anatomy, value and perspective. The warrior's head looks a bit off to me in regards to lighting but I can't seem to pinpoint it for the life of me.
I personally think you should lay off the blur effect a bit and use different techniques on your term art. From what I can tell in the bug colour illustration, you want to get the photograph-like feeling down. I notice this because of the wing blurs and the foreground. One suggestion I can make for stuff like that is to draw/paint like you would normally paint it then use Photoshop's blur effects. Experiment a bit with motion blur, Gaussian blur, radial blur, just experiment. Don't be afraid to use photoshops layer effects and to duplicate your layers!
Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to experiment and use different techniques! *thumbs up*

you still have a long way to goo, but if you just keep doing what your doing you will get there!
Here's a piece I did last night, took roughly 4 hours. A study of a piece from Masters collection digital painting.
