Hey AnuNah, It looks like you are making a good start, jumping in and seeing what you can get done. This is a really good for a first go in ZBrush. I'm pretty bad at sculpting, but I'll say what I can.
Are you working from a concept? If so, it would be great for people to be able to see it so we can see what your final goal is. if not, you should consider it in future. A strong concept helps to make sure you are making all the design decisions and not letting the software make them for you.
I would guess that with things like the blade you could probably define the shapes before upping the mesh density and moving on to details (like the sketched in straps and stuff). This helps keep things smooth and clean.
Don't be afraid to make a single model out of multiple tools/selection groups or masked off areas. This will help you to get cleaner edges and better definition in the sculpt. The weapon is a good example of this, each new surface feels like it was made from the last.
