Weston's Concept Art Thread

Hey everybody! First time posting here. I'm here to share some of my work, get some feedback, and make progress towards a job in the industry. I recently graduated with an Illustration BFA so my background is mainly in 2D but I'm trying to learn more 3D in order to be more well-rounded. So far I'm really enjoying the 3D side of things too. My interests are environments, architecture, and props more so than characters. I'm currently living and working in Kansas but I'm hoping to relocate to a gaming hub and begin working in the industry. Any feedback will be appreciated! Thanks.

This is amazing work. You favoring envioments deffinitely shows here. Not to say your characters arent good, far from it. Its just your enviroments are so much more engaging. My favorite one is the second image. Really nice composition, the trees in the foreground make it feel like the character has just traversed a dense forest to come out into this huge clearing. The mountains draw the eye to the tower, which gives a sense of scale and a feeling of wonder. The colour pallete also complements this and makes the scene feel more serene.

@Apolloman thanks! I'm glad you like it. I've just recently started honing in on the environment side. Good to here that is coming through. I hope to continue pushing that. Looks like this thread got double posted. Here is my most recent painting. Adding to this thread. Tavern in a Cavern.
