The Academy of Art University's School of Game Development is seeking an experienced and talented Lighting Artist to work as a part-time instructor to teach a class focused on 3D lighting for real-time game environments. The course will focus on teaching the Unreal 4 game engine. This class will cover a range of styles, from photo-real, AAA (a-la Sledgehammer, Naughty Dog) to "stylized" (a-la Riot, Blizzard)
Applicant must be proficient in:
· Developing lighting strategies for real-time scenes, using verbal and written communication, concepts or reference images/videos
· Providing effective and constructive feedback
· Creating atmospheric effects like fog & smoke
· Creating certain light and camera/lens effects like lens flares and god rays
· Creating certain special environment effects such as underwater effects
· Current industry pipelines, tools and best practices for development, also providing skills in communicating with other team members, such as designers & programmers.
