I see a significant improvement in speed with a SSD set to Photoshop's scratch disk. I imagine the result is universal. SSDs speed up anything related to disk-writing, so it may be worth picking up a cheap one just for Photoshop and some applications!
Okay thanks. I still dont understand why there is disk writing at all for the most part. With ram as cheap as it is, i'd rather run 64gb of it and load quixel entirely into that each time i load. Even progressively in the background to get up and running even quixellerly. At least having the dynamask window and the material browser in ram completely would be so nice so they pop up instantly.
