Heres my WIP update on the direction of the face, as for the body shots it s a rough blockout of the direction im going with her. Now its time to polish her up.
So Ive been very busy at work so Ive been working on her very slowly piece by piece so it might be abit before I finish her, but i'm in no rush because Im really pushing myself with this one and learning alot, she's my first non game res character. But anyways heres a update:
Im almost their guys, final stretch just wanted to quickly drop something in here to let you kno im still workling on her. The light stage I used here has lights all around her kind of like the 3d scan domes to a certain extent so her skin values seem different from the previous render. Her breast area is just a placeholder im still working on that area I'll have a nice render by friday.
Update, Its a slow progress because of work but shes getting there Ignore the white spots thats clipping from the body, small little fix ill make a little later.
Looking very good, would probably look better in a more interesting pbr assuming you're using the white background. I would probably make the black leather just a tad bit darker, but it's very nice.
Lighting test update, IGNORE THE WHITE CLIPPING ON ARMS forgot to fix that Still have to tweak the reflection on the silk. and some of the metal but so far coming together nicely
Nice work man, looking really good. The head is stellar and so are the clothes you added, tasty all over.
I'd say go with the bottom right lighting or something similar to it. IMO you want a lighting setup that highlights all the work you put into
the forms in her face, the white makeup knocks it all back and it's hard
to see. Maybe move the key light more to the right side and have a bounced light to really pop the forms. Looking forward to updates
solid piece! The sculpt of the face looks really nice but I can't get over the makeup haha. It's just too much, but I guess it's part of the concept/character ^^
She is looking beautiful man! Like the renders from different environments.
Could you share some info about your Skin Shader ? I am wondering if you're using separate VRay mtl for make up and blend it with face, or it is just all in one SkinMtl ?
maybe add a tertiary color scheme? some dark purples maybe?
I also think some of the red cloth could use some material variation and definition. right now it feels like its all some sort of alien rubber plastic stuff. The skin could also use some color variation, like you mentioned yourself with the hair. but also the cheeks, nose and ears could maybe have some more color in it? maybe you could go with some purples or dark blue tones there.
Its seems like you've gotten to a good place with the skin color, im just bumping on how even the whiteness across her face is. If thats your choice and you're happy with it by all means keep it, it looks great. I just came across some models with powdered make up and i really think you would benefit from whats going on in some of these, especially around the ears and hair line.
im not a fan of the red eyes. it detracts from the facepaint/makeup and make it look its all one thing. could all white or some uncanny gray for the eyes work instead?
Hey everyone thanks for the crits Ill be applying them in a bit, I just wanted to post another shot of Asajj with different brighter lighting. No changes yet.
Update Changed up the skin and the eyes a bit, Also added peach fuzz to the skin. But I want to know what you guys think about this because Im finishing the portrait renders than moving on to the final renders of the full body.
Its better, I like some of the details in the red. I still think the face could use some more color variation. I Made a quick paint over. added some more color to the ears and nose, added a gray tint to the scalp, and changed up some colors! I think something along the lines of this could really benefit the design.
Hey thanks guys, Ill play around with a bit of variation in the makeup and sclera especially, but the iris is that color because of the sith eyes so I might play around with that a bit but I want them too Look like Anakin's eyes in episode 3 and some of the sith cosplayers contact lenses, Heres another portrait I did but with a warm soft light above I might lower the intensity of the light above but I kind of like it, No changes to the skin here just different lighting and angle.
Hey guys last wip update on the torso, I find these new colors perfect, Im rendering a turntable now then Ill get the full body turntable done and post those shots then off to the beauty render.

Ok guys another update, just working on her pose, dress, cape and some textures and then im done. Final stretch what do you guys think?
The bottom left lighting is working perfectly !
I like the yellow/red light (bottom-right). but it looks a little too bright at head area!

Since the only real color she has is red, having the HDRI be green, like a jungle or any such enviroment might make it look better.

Can't wait to see her done!
