So when people talk about how many polys they can push on screen do they talk about 3d package polycount or in-game polycount, i.e. the real number after all camera effects are added, lighting is built and so on? I mean I can put a 14k geo in Unity, add in directional light, set quality to fantastic and my polycount will almost triple while the geo will remain the same.
I've heard that Killzone could have 250k on screen at once but it also had a lot of post-processing filters which could render the scene twice or something like that to achieve the specific effect.
