A portfolio piece I've been working on in anticipation of TFA. Had a fun time trying out Marvelous Designer for the first time. Will come back to refine after I see the movie this weekend.
@ The Rizzler Yea I've gotten that from a few others who have seen the movie so I'll be addressing that issue. The reference I found of the costume was probably washed out from flash photography. I saw that image you posted on the star wars wiki and kind of sighed after seeing how brown it is.
As the others have said, it looks great! Likeness is fantastic, and you really nailed every aspect of it. The only thing besides the jacket color that might need an extra look is the lightsaber... Isn't it a bit too small? I could be wrong, but I always thought the handles were pretty chunky.
Thank you Bummer! You could be right. For my final beauty render I plan to pose him like this, and since the rig isn't completed yet I decided to hold off on this pose for now. Anyways when its done it will be easier to tell the proper scale once I get things in position.
Update: Darkened jacket and skin, scaled lightsaber, adjusted hairline, played with spec and gloss values, adjusted lighting a tad, and filled out his face to better reflect how Boyega looked in the film. Final action pose coming after New Years.
