Hey, could someone help me with this please..? I can't understand whats going on.. I've been using 3ds max for a long time now but I've never seen anything like this.. My UV mapping is gone haywire.. I'm creating a simple backpack to be exported to mudbox and I had a small issue with extruding the shoulder strap.. I was trying to extrude two poly's at once and one was going on the x-axis, the other on the z.. So beveled instead.. But then when I got to UV'ing, this happened.. I'm baffled..

Also, not a good idea to have Editable Poly in sub-object mode when you add the Unwrap modifier. .. if you exit the sub-object, it will reset the Unwrap.
Thank you very much.. Relief..
If that happens then just create a new box, convert it to editable poly, and then use "Attach" and select the troublematic mesh. Then remove the box. Same technique can be used in Maya for meshes that for some reason appear corrupt or have other issues. It's called the "box trick".
You can also use this fun MaxScript command. It's easy to remember because of the alliteration of the word "mesh".
Code:
But if I understand the MAXScript reference guide correctly this creates a new mesh based on the selected mesh/all selected meshes - meaning you get a duplicate (the original will still be there)?!
