Hey everybody, I've been meaning to make a post for a while once I've got all my ducks in a row, and now that they're all in a row...it's a lot of ducks!! Apologize in advance, this is going to take me a bit--
First, I'll start off with the ZBrush stuff; I have an intro to ZBrush Part 1 you guys can check out for free on my youtube channel, gumroad, and the Lumi3DStudios website:
Part 2 is almost 8 hours of instruction, spread out over 70 videos. There's a handful of videos on the youtube playlist, and the content list is on the gumroad page:
Part 3 is seven and a half hours long split up over 67 videos. Whew! That's a lot of ZBrush. But all that should cover most of your fundamental ZBrush needs, whether you're a concept artist, production artist, product designer, any other type of artist interested in 3D...you should be able to start cranking out some quality without sacrificing speed or creativity! Just like Part 2, there's a Youtube playlist with a handful of videos, and a breakdown of the content on the gumroad page:
Now for some "quickstart" videos! These are all free, and all designed to give you a crash course in the subject--no fluff, no tangents, just get in and get productive. We'll start with Substance Painter; 15 videos, about 90 minutes all in. Actually make that 16 videos, I need to add a little bit about masking and mask previews that I forgot about in the initial run:
Next, Substance Designer. 10 videos, 2 hours, all free. I see a lot of threads talking about how difficult and steep the learning curve of Substance Designer and Painter is for an artist; watch these videos and let me know if you still feel that way. I'm about as dense as an artist as you can get-- if I can figure it out, for sure you can. These actually cover quite a bit, and by the time you get to the end, I think you'll feel pretty good about node based procedural pipelines. It's pretty cool stuff!
Man it really doesn't like some links I'm trying to post for some reason...tell you what, keep an eyeball out on the links I've posted above, those should be regularly updated (just updated the designer and painter ones with iray and the baked lighting filter respectively, if you haven't checked those out yet totally worth a click-through). I'll try again in a while!
