Normal Map Baking For A Face?

Everytime I try it looks like a horrible mess, I have 0 idea how to bake a normal for a face. Any help would be appreciated, I have Maya, and Xnormal atm.

Other than pointing you towards tutorials not much can be done without showing what you have so far.

Ok, I got this low poly face, I want to make ( have made) a high poly one, I just don't bake worth crap. My Xnormal looks like a horrible mess when I use it.
