VISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST - FULL TIME - HARDSUIT LABS - SEATTLE
YOU
You are extremely versatile in your craft; you can draw, paint, animate and model with equal proficiency. You are used to working closely with art director and the team creating captivating visual effects but if the need arises, you can work in complete autonomy developing effects from concept to implementation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of industry experience.
- Experience developing particle systems and geometry based visual effects.
- Ability to conceptualize and create natural, sci-fi and fantastical effects, all for real-time use.
- Strong knowledge of art and animation principles.
- Strong Photoshop skills for creating effect textures for use with particle systems / animated geometry.
- Self-driven, passionate, creative problem solver, and a great team-first attitude.
- Experience with the creation and of physically-based shaders.
- Familiarity with the Unreal 4 Engine effects art pipeline.
- Experience implementing high end VFX that run efficiently on target.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in secondary areas such as modeling, skinning, animation, or lighting.
- Passion for making and playing great games, with an awareness of current titles and industry trends.
- Strong knowledge of modern game environment development principles and techniques.
- Experience with optimization on a console project is preferred. Experience developing for Xbox One and PS4 highly desirable.
- Desire to help others and to improve art content pipelines.
