no material ID

i noticed when I press C no material ID shows up. the model turns black. thoughts? I have the material ID image as a png, with no transparency.

If you close down 3DO by pressing the X button and then re-open it - does it show up then? Also, out of curiosity, if you add a Smart Material and then after press C in 3DO, does it appear then? These are just possible workarounds, but should help you with your project until it's been fixed.
