Do you make money with skins?

Hello guys. I just want to ask a simple question, Do you make money with skins in cs:go?
For example I ve made a skin and community accepted it and its in the game. Will I have any profit from it? Exept merchandize.

Yes. If your skin makes it into the game you are very lucky and you will make good money.

If your item is included in a container, then every time someone buys a key for this container ($2.50) you will get a percentage. Also every time your item is traded you will get a small cut of the 15% trading fee. It's not uncommon for people to make 20K and even 80K for submitted weapons. Not bad far passive income.

How often are items accepted, is it rare ? Do they need to be voted or something ?

The skins that get in are voted up by the community then valve chooses the ones that will fit best with the upcoming case

Yes you receive money from a case. I was lucky enough to get a skin in Chroma 3

IMO the Prototype Key is kinda useless
