Hi guys. I am making vehicle for personal project. Trying to achieve AAA quality or something similar.

I was wondering how much textures I can put on this vehicle. If its about size it's something like ford mustang.
I know for characters people sometimes do like 5x2048 textures or something similar. 
What do you thing will be ok for vehicle like this ? I figure out that 4k or 4x2048 can work for me.
But I will be glad If someone with more exp can give some adivices and examples. I don't want to kill the system with to much textures of course :P  

I was looking for this on the web but mostly I found great artworks from game but not info about textures.

    if there are no decals or dirt on the car its more or less shader only...
    beside the lights its all done with shaders...

    Hi. I am talking about situation where it is plenty of texture on the car ;) I simply can't create a shader with some dirt masks etc.

    What kind of vehicle? There is a big different between how you make cars for say, Mad Max vs a game like Gran Turismo. The former: you use texture maps. The latter: You have much more polygons, no normal maps and a special car shader.

    The reason for the *no Normal maps* is also that you don't get any normal map compression issues, texture streaming issues and overall the reflection tends to look better when you go with really high polycounts for vehicles.

    Yep lets say it's like in mad max ;)  Need normal maps. Just wondering if 6x2k textures it's not too much for car like this.
    I know there can be plenty of cases So that's why I'm looking for good examples. And didn't found any good. Thanks in advance if you have any examples ;) ! Cheers!
