What PC performance programs do you use?

I would like to visually see how to optimise Windows for better performance. Something simple but looks nice would be great.

I have just reformatted my Alienware and its running much faster and a little cooler but I would like to see what is causing the spikes in performance outside of UE4. Google Chrome with to many tabs seems to be eating up my ram for example.

Try Vivladi browser over chrome, it uses less ram.

Can't suggest any performance-specific programs, I just make an image of my system with Macrium Reflect after a fresh format, then restore it every 6 months. Easier than reformatting cause all your programs/drivers are on the image.

Display Driver Uninstaller whenever I upgrade my GPU drivers. I have had multiple problems just upgrading from driver to driver through geforce experience / downloading packages / etc.

Avast has been advertising a performance utility lately. If you want a company you can trust it is them. I use avast free because it runs in the background and doesn't screw with my 3d apps. I think that is what you are talking about: system maintenance. I used a free registry utility once which was a disaster. Seems it wasn't free after all and after it had jammed , it was a beast to get rid of. For routine stuff I use Disk space fan (great for detecting AE temp files and loads of left over ZBrush files), cccleaner, Malwarebytes, Revo uninstaller (good clean uninstalls, startup list and also a temp file cleaner), for the HD JK Defrag and for the laptop Spybot search and destroy.

Yeah I guess everyone's mileage is different. I once spent a whole weekend chasing a virus through my computer and avast came up with a patch in a day, that was nice. They havent cost me time yet. Unlike Yahoo who installed a browser exploit that took over all my browsers (from a free font viewer after I unchecked ' install yahoo search' ) and cost me 2 hours of my life to get rid of. If you want spy practices I give you Google and Adobe that sells your information and if you really want exposure install windows 10.

Like I said, your mileage may differ but I have used avast for years and it has been a very good product so far. I havent used their system optimization soft, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their main product.

Just my opinion.
