First post here on Polycount. Working on a realistic gritty steampunk style game (taking heavy inspiration from Dishonored). Latest addition is this barrel for tar, which essentially powers most vehicles and heavy machinery.
The wear seem to be a bit too even, try to build up dirt in crevices and scratches and stuff on edges (just an example). I can't really say I'm getting a very steam punky vibe from the design, I know it is not really set in stone what steam punk looks like but I would work more with materials such as wood, brass and copper. Also, the logo is too clean, It looks like It was just spray painted on recently.
Awesome. All good points. The time period is just after the turn of the century, except with some technological differences so its like a cross between steampunk and a bit of diesel punk. Even so, I agree, I should show off the genre a little more in the model and add some interest that displays its steampunkyness. Thanks for the critique!
