A perfect circle is appearing in part of my normal map for a Scifi gun im modeling. There is no reason at all why this is happening, I cant figure it out. Im using a cage which is correct, the HP is not protruding through the cage nor is there any geometry behind it that would project onto the handle.
Edit - The Uvs are also fine.
Anyone have ideas as to why this is happening?

Floater? What does the HP look like in the Xnormal preview?
Today I took the gun handle padding out of the HP mesh and baked a new normal map. With the padding gone there is no circle baked onto the actual handle so Im thinking it's something to do with the padding mesh/geo?
