I decided to change the blade a bit and try out some other materials. All feedback is welcome. Also on a side note - I was wondering am I allowed to use the Warframe logo in my presentation, assuming it is a fanart? Actually I am quite curious about it and I hope I will get some answer.
Awesome design. Great usage of the Tenno sigil/logo. I like the texture and material assignment of the blade and the hilt in the second image. I like the hilt guard design not being all one color, but I'm not crazy about the actual guard portion being black. On the design portion the black does work well. Maybe switch the guard portion to gold or play with other colors and see what you get. Looking forward to seeing more.
So I do not have a lot of time right now but here is a small update. I have been separating the materials a bit more, the idea being that these colors are more of a mask to get a more clear idea how I want to "spread" the tints - the pieces that the player will be able to change color later on in the game.

Caution with your colour scheme: We reserve gold for our Prime line of items. We should stress this in the docs more than we do.
I'd recommend trying a different colour where you have gold -- anodized blue and red both also tend to look awesome
I like the look of this bottom one:
