Hi! I started working on this today, just making some basic shapes at the moment. But it's supposed to be a statue of a hooded skeleton holding a lantern.
What I have done so far is more or less to take a basic human I have and posed him like I wanted and then use spheres to roughly shape the cloth.

Thanks, That gothic style is a bit what i'm going for.
Here is a little update:
Well, it can vary on how tight it's, you choose :P
Anyways, it looks really nice!
I made a paintover to show you how you can fix the back.
- fix the proportions like the knee too low, etc
- change the pose to make it more interesting by like bending the knee and expanding the back of the robe that is on the ground
- find references and try to understand how folds work by studying them. A fold is created by either a compression or a tension. Find the contact point and you will find the direction of the fold.
You can apply this feedback to the front as well.
I hope it helps!
