Personally I think that UE has more tutorials (so if you want hand guidance go with UE), simple material, particle, cutscene and even scripting (blueprints) editor. Unity has more built-in presets (Standard shader already implemented, particles using simple checkers and sliders...). Unity gets harder only once their presets aren't enough for you and you start to need to use custom scripts.

If you are working on an art portfolio, use Unreal. It has a nicer renderer and built in shader editor.
