@quockhanhlk Thanks! Hopefully soon my WIPs from my sketchbook thread will be done and make it in here... XD
@zachvance It's been a challenge, I definitely rested for a while in the evenings when I got started here, but I'm glad to be making personal work again Feels good, man
Might make a coloring tutorial of something like this on Artstation, something that goes a little more in-depth about the steps I take in isolated prop concepts
Just wanted to drop by and say thank you, like very much, for sharing your work processes and keeping the sketchbook ongoing for over 100 + replies (which I dont see much). And for the gifs too. Seeing this kind of continuous production of works, your workflow is a huge source of inspiration and motivation for a noob like me. I really look forward for future updates too
Ahhh, @Doodlok, thanks for those kind words. That means a lot to me. It's been a pretty crazy ride over the last few years but I do genuinely think the biggest factor of continuous progress is consistently making stuff, so I certainly try to. Keep creating and you can do amazing things!! It just comes down to practice and time
Awesome work Becca. I am from Chicago as well. I am new in this forum and figuring out what kind of art to do? I like seeing work around the internet, it inspires me to make something. I like your work it got a thick brush style to it. Keep going. >;)
When I saw you had finished it I instantly went and registered for the prop modelling category (although I wasn't planning on doing this competition)!
...Then I saw the 11 other people who did the same thing, haha! I think you really nailed this.
Ah I'm flattered! I wish you the best of luck, it's super super cool to see everyone modeling the stagecoach. I absolutely adore this part of the challenge, seeing everything come to life!

Thank you, and hello fellow Chicagoan! I wish you the best of luck exploring the different artistic paths you can take, the best way to find out which one best suits you is to do a lot of experimenting and pursue which options are the most fun for you. Polycount is a very good place to be while you're figuring it all out!
@beccatherose Thank you for answer me! I never thought about doing this way, I'm gonna practice and I hope to use this technique one day with this mastery level!

Don't forget to learn perspective without using 3D! It's a huge timesaver, but knowing how to draw without needing it will really level up your work Good luck!
Beautiful rendering as always, my only crit would be the wood on the stock is looking a bit out of place rendering wise, not sure if your going for stylized or realistic look.

It's intended to be made from a huge rib bone, but I'm not sure if I was totally successful in getting that across XD

I see, thats a really cool idea I think it mostly look like you have some photo textures there thats not really blended in to 100%
herbalist NPC from our dnd campaign. reggie and his winged serpent are the local source for medicinal herbs and various strains of smokeroot amongst the districtgoers and visitors of emerald keep. laid back, friendly, and trusting, he’s one of our group’s favorites within the city walls. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/AzGoX
In a domain strife with inner conflict and deception, a royal hybrid beast was bred specifically to ensure the safety of the sovereign state's most essential team of couriers. Deeply bonded to their masters, these creatures are trained from birth to immediately destroy any sensed threat, regardless of context or intensity. The lifelong-appointed messengers are the sole beings in contact with them, and any state-dwellers outside of the royal circle caught breeding or possessing one is brought to a swift and harsh sentence. Ideally, they are never threatened as all members of the domain's society can recognize their markings immediately, and the beast's enormous plumage and powerful stature usually intimidates away anyone that may approach.
Great stuff Becca, just watched your interview with Ryan Kingslien. Fantastic work on the Injustice 2 props/weapons - was good to hear your breakdown about the importance of motifs. I'm primarily a character guy, but I think your work has persuaded me to put just as much design thought into their props as I do to their costumes.

Thanks for the kind words, that's so cool to hear! Glad that it was helpful, I wish you the best of luck exploring prop/accessory design
The Lucky Kirin: "Even a brief sighting of a wild kirin is said to bring good fortune...but especially of those with the runes in their horns. Stories swear that a small band of woodland druids would bring offerings to the creatures in the forest every autumn, gently carving symbols of long life into the antlers of those that approached. Elders say that the kirin with those runes never die, and that their antlers never drop in the winter. They live on to pass just a little bit of luck to the travelers and wanderers that just so happen to spot them." View on Artstation

Recent piece, viewable on Artstation "A wild nightmare that was frequently sighted burning open fields, eventually put down by the knights of Perthos in order to save the fragile crops of rural villages. Nothing is as frightening as beasts that so purely delight in destruction."

they look super weird, so I made a little paint over to show you what I mean.
Thank you for front page!

About the last one, is it 3D or 2D?
Thanks! It's a completely 2D paintover a very rough 3D blockout, which looked like this:
I like to use a blockout so that everything looks right spacially, plus it sets up the majority of the shapes and perspective

"If" is the big issue here!
Really like to try model this out.
