Texture and render

So this is my hand painted wood texture, first time rendering in marmoset 2 so any feedback would be really helpful

That wood looks kind of dark. Would be easier to see if you brightened it up a bit in the render

it could be burned wood? it would be cool, but its too shiny for burned wood, or any wood for that matter.  make it more matte and brighter ^^

Yeah for some reason any texture i import seems to come out really shiny which is odd, but again thanks for the feedback il be sure to change it

to be honest it still doesnt look like wood, more like yellow brick it looks "plastic-y" Maybe it would look bettwer if i could actually see a wood grain. Now, there is something there, but the lighting on it is weird. Is there any reference on how would you want your wood to look like? or maybe show me your raw handpainted texture?

It does look a bit brick like. I think that it doesn't help that your planks are so short in length, usually wooden planks are much longer. Also, the surface is too rough/bumpy and the gaps in between are too wide. Your roughness values seem to be off too. Can we see your textures?

Those cracks really add up to the rock impression. Wood doesn´t crack like that, it always cracks in the directions of the grain. Or at least I think it should be in your textures Plus the brick shape is still very odd, you should lengthen them into planks. You could also add some knotholes!

ok thanks for that as soon as i get the time im gunna try re work my wood texture to get the best effect, and yeah knot holes would be really cool
