i'm curious about... how can you correlate texture resolution with
in-game metrics? I mean, how can you say that a 1024x1024 texture
occupies exactly 1 m inside the game engine metric system?

There are also tools that let you scale UVs so they're of a given texel density (like 1024px per metre).
