I'm a huge fan of the Xmen. This fandom got serious in the 90s with the cartoon and Jim Lee and later Joe Mad years. I'm also a fan the recent Disney Infinity Marvel and Star Wars figures, but I found it kinda tragic that these specific versions of the Xmen might never get made for this game/toy line. Or at least not any time soon. So I thought I'd remedy that to at least the extent that a fanart can do. I'm getting these ready to render in Keyshot, but wanted to post here in case some more good suggestions come up. What do you think?
Great work! At first I thought that they were sculpts for the real toys! I also agree with Nuclear Angel, while its a good pose Cyclops is the least interesting when compared to the rest of the sculpts. Keep it up!
This is rad, love the amiibo-looking characters. I'm kind of distracted by Jean Grey though. Was the back of her costume always thong-looking? Right now she looks a little sexualized and having not really seen her since I was a child, I don't remember if that's how her outfit always was.
STINKFOOT- I wish Disney would just make them, right? but I might make the printable files available later on. Stay tuned!
BRINGMEASUNKIST- Thanks! I think Jean's blue stripe on the suit is thinner in the comics and thicker in the toons precisely because of the thong effect I guess... didn't realize it, might be able to tweak it still for the print version.
JOSE.FUENTES - Thanks, will see if I can spice up Slim somehow.
AMIRABD2130 -
NUCLEARANGEL - He was the first one I made, so I guess he suffered from that a bit. I'll see what I can do to help him out.
Here's a bit more... still tweaking renders, shaders and gearing up for the groupshot, but here's Storm, Beast, the Sentinel and a test render of Logan in the mean time. The sentinel design is based on XM collectibles' version of the Sentinel, aside from Capcom's version of Sentinel the best version I've seen of them out there.
So here come the final shots of the whole gang including the groupshot. Hope you like them.
Scott!
Jean!
Remy!
Marie!
Hank!
Ororo!
Logan!
And him!
There are still other characters that tempt the hell out of me to make like some classic bad guys... This is it for now, but maybe I'll do a few more in the future, cuz shieet, you never know.
Fuck. Yes. If I could buy these, I would. My only crit is that the poses are a little too static. Adding some more gesture to them would go a long way.
Thanks guys! I posted a video on my youtube on the sculpting process, nothing fancy, pretty straight forward stuff. Second part will go up next week, hopefully.
