Fellow Polycounter Ryan Smith (virtuosic) has released the beta version of his new 3ds Max script, TreeGen. And the best part is, it's free!

Oh weird I JUST saw this on youtube last night. I thought it was an old script or something and was like "Wow that tree looks amazing, I wonder how old the script is though." without even checking the date the video was uploaded -_-

Anyway, F*** yeah. Modeling trees by hand really shouldn't be necessary with tools like this.

YAY! Lots of love for foliage lately. This seems to be the best tool around. I especially like how you can set the detail and how you can snap your own leaf planes on it.
