docs seem a bit dry compared to the UDK documentation.

beside the threads here does anyone have links to good reference / video sources?

Remember something about a direct connection to maya type pipeline demoed before.
Anyone know if as much has been implemented in the SDK?

If you want to use the cryengine3, buy a crysis 2 copy and use the mod sdk. That is what i think after using this "sdk"

It's a nice engine, but my experience from having worked with it for the last couple of months on a student project boil down to it (whatever version they're releasing to the outside) still being very much a beta. multiplayer especially was a nightmare.

Just for clarification for anyone's who's unsure. This is a free SDK and can be used without purchasing Crysis 2. There is a Crysis 2 editor but that's a completely separate program. Documentation is coming... I remember when UDK documentation was scarce - It just takes time.
