Paul "MoP" Greveson (Technical Artist) and Tim "spacemonkey" Appleby (Lead Character Artist) shed light on how Brink's extensive character and weapon customization system was realized.

Still, it should be interesting for various reasons - we tried to touch on all aspects of production from the very start to the end of development.
Also, if anyone has access to the GDC Vault, then the recorded presentation is available to watch there, which should be a little more informative than the slides on their own. I guess if I find the time I will try to transcribe the talk into notes on the slides.
I don't know if you fine chaps had a chance to catch the Ready at Dawn talk, but they also approached their last project with the same kind of "art" driven development process, and had some really great things to say about it... and not so great as well :P
Anyways, just wanted to give a big thanks to you both for a memorable session, and hopefully next time I go we can meetup and create a really awkward situation... or something.
was the presentation videoed?
r_fletch_r: Yep, it was videoed, but it's only available on the GDC Vault so you need to pay... wish we could share it with you but that's under GDC ownership
Pangahas: It downloads fine for me here, and nobody else appears to be having any trouble... try again?
Everyone: Glad you liked it, it was a lot of effort to put it together but we really are proud of the end result, and it meant our first GDC talk was a resounding success, hopefully we can come back next year or maybe 2013 with some newer and cooler stuff
