Kinect SDK for Windows is availble

As amazing as it might seem, Microsoft has released the SDK for the Kinect system.

This allows anyone to make applications that can properly use the sort of data streams that the motion camera can generate. There's is a lot of technical details, and of course the download link, at their new and shiny website supporting this.

There is a note that this is the non-commercial version of the SDK with a commercial version that will be released at a later date. So no making money off this just yet. I know, I am disappointed too.

LOL, it took him that long to do that? Why not use its speech to text parsing ability? Mass effect used it for its demo where you read aloud the dialogue you want to use. Hopefully that's included in the SDK... I'd would think so, I believe it does it via it's hardware.

One of the animators here has been playing around with this as very cheap mocap with some very surprisingly good results.

Someone program it so I can 3D model and sculpt with my hands. PLS I would pay good money for that
Although it looks like it would be far in the future before it would be able to I still want it.
