Autodesk Released a hot fix for 3dsmax, fixes normal maps in the viewport.
Or does it? I haven't tested it out yet so let me know if it launches missiles at Russia or something crazy.
It includes a fix for displaying normal maps in the viewport correctly. This was largely brought about by one of the many normal mapping threads here on Polycount (be proud, your b!tching paid off!) that was brought to the attention of Ken Primtell who has been known to lurk and occasionally post in these parts.

now let's bitch to autodesk why we cant tie bundle textures in the same file as a 3ds max.
cause god knows we fucking hate it when path links break and we have to find the textures all over again with uvmap =_=*
