Blender 2.54 or maybe 2.55 has been released to the public for their general use and fondling.
There has been a ton of new features as always, but your own use and mileage is going to vary. Hit their website for the specifics. I can never tell exactly what is in their updates as they munge the newest updates with others in the current stage of their roadmap.
