Hey everyone! I figured I should start getting feedback on my work. I've been teaching myself Blender and Mudbox for a couple years now and it's been a lot of fun. Any critiques/tips would be great. Thanks!
I'm working on Russell Crowe from Gladiator now. Ignore the face for now, its a quick placeholder. Any feedback on this or my other work would be great!
Don't be afraid to put extra triangles in your gun. If that is meant to be for a first person view. The handle appears to be a diffuse texture with built in grip. Separate the color of the grip from the surface detail. Make a normal map for that.
Ah yeah, I want to either go back and redo that one or do a new gun with a lot more detail. I made that one before I had done much with hard surface modeling. Thanks for the feedback!
Did some more work on the face. I think it's starting looking more like him now. The sculpted hair is all placeholder now. Any feedback would be great.
Going through Tim's ( @rascal ) AKM tutorial now to learn 3DSMax and Substance Painter. Great tutorial and I've learned a lot! Just finishing up the high poly here and then onto unwrapping and texturing.
Nice! Look forward to seeing the textured version. Also not sure if you're still working on him, but Russel Crowe's neck seemed a bit thin, and his head a bit squashed from front to back. Very cool detail though.
Thanks for the feedback! Taking a break from Russell Crowe right now to learn 3DS Max and Substance Painter but I'll get back to him once I finish with the AKM. I'll make those changes once I get back to him.

Couple of the reference photos I'm using.
His ears seem to sit a little high, the corners of his mouth are too thin. His lips chin and brow are lacking form.
I also think the angle of his jaw is too high.
Would help to see your references.
From a quick google search I got these.
