First of all, get rid of the backdrop. It's distracting, and the lighting on the ship doesn't match to backdrop at all. (That being said, if you created the background yourself, it's really much more impressive than the ship is).
I hate to be so blunt, but it looks like you're at a point where you should really focus on building your skills, and not worry about your portfolio yet (unless its for college applications or the like). The design, model, and textures are all pretty basic and unconvincing. I'm not trying to discourage you; we all created worse stuff when we starting, but you have a long way to go. It'd help more to post WIPs than finished pieces; it's hard to give specific feedback at this stage. I'd suggest you find a concept or real world object you want to make, create a thread for it, post every couple days, and we'll guide you along.
On top of what Meloncov stated, your space ship looks very out of place. It seems that you rendered it in some fashion where you placed it on top of the star image then added an outer shadow/glow.
Its a fair attempt, it actually could pass for a specific art style.
With your next project, post your concept or real life image you are aiming for then block it out and proceed from there. Post these steps on here so we can guide you in the right direction if you need it.
