Late/ish Medieval Bascinet

Hey so i've been working on this helmet for a bit and i wanted to get some critique on the high poly before i go into remeshing and texturing.

The pins on the cloth inside are supposed to be metal but these are just some quick mats to get an idea of the end product.

The cloth inside isn't perfect but i have already redone it once so i'm not too bothered. (This is a student practice piece)

Looking nice so far. I think you could add some rivets to hold the straps on; right now they look like they are floating.

The two things that jump at me right away are the floating straps and what seems like very loose and very uniform stitching around the edge of the cap.

Could you post the reference that you're working from?

Yep i could add a pin, i tried to make it look like it went under the cloth through a cut in the fabric. And the stitching needs some variation added to it, it's just a 3ds max model and not sculpt yet.
