Decided that my portfolio would have room for second gun, and this time no cheating to avoid dem picatinny rails :P
(first one being steyr aug a2 for that specific reason, made 1,5 years ago and retextured recently)

So i ended up picking fn scar-h. Not using my one allowed m4a1 ticket yet. I'd call the highpoly done but thought it would be good idea to show it here for criticism. Lowpoly is coming up rather nicely too, aiming for around 20k. So, what do you guys think? So far only highpoly renders from toolbag2.

Baked and substanced, here are the results. I'd call it done, but c&c is still welcome and taken notice. The rifle is 17,200 tris 2k maps and acog 4,606 1k. Mpas used albedo/normal/metalness-roughness-ao-cavity

Nice model and bake, but the texture is feeling a little too pristine and your metal and plastics don't look different enough from each other.

Great model and bake, but the texturing is very boring; feels like flat colors, really. I feel like it needs some micro-detail, to break it up.

Did some more work on textures, though not sure if enough as didn't want to overdo the dirtiness. Any tips how to make the materials read better? The top should be painted metal and the khaki parts plastic.

The bakes are really clean and well done. regarding texturing, maybe you should look at references of this gun and try to match those to the best of your abilities. Where will it be edge wear and dirt for example? Where will the weapon be a bit damaged? And so forth.  If you know that it will be easy for you to make a great texture. Good luck!

Just echoing some of what's already been said, but the bake looks great. Your textures are really holding this back though. If you're going for pristine/ fresh off the line then it's too dirty/scratched.  If you're going for used, it's too pristine.  I hope that makes sense, but basically you need to commit to one of those and really push it.
