heya there, first of all im new to rigging.. i just made an low poly character and i also watched couple tuts so far so good, but this tuts are only about normal human rig wihout any armor or stuff on.. now my question is what is about the coat its infront of his legs so do i need to rig the coat?

For stuff like this, you could add simple bones and controls, but animating that will be a pain.
You can use Maya dynamics for secondary motion, but thats an advanced task.
Cloth can be dynamically animated in a game engine, here is an example of the Cryengine.

As you can see, lots of stuff to setup. I dont know about unreal, maybe there is an easier setup than in CE
Edit: Oh, the "old" way you still see a lot is to just carefully skin the coat to the legs, but nevertheless how much I tweaked, the results are not pleasing nowadays.
